Abstract: This article presents scientific research on typical grey soils that are distributed in the geomorphological region of the foothill plains formed of proluvial deposits of the light grey irrigated soil zone, in the upper and middle parts of the alluvial fans of the Chirchik, Angren and Gijikent rivers of Tashkent region, and that have developed under various lithological, hydrogeological and soil-climatic conditions. The territory of the district is located at the foot of the Quramа mountain ranges and on the left bank of the Ohangaron river, at the place where the Chirchik-Ohangaron valley begins. The total land area of the district is 50071.0 hectares. The irrigated land area is 22631.0 hectares. These lands offer opportunities for producing agricultural products. The influence of climatic and relief factors on the humus content and the reaction of the soil environment in typical grey soils of different bonitet (soil quality) classes was studied in the research area. In the course of the research, the climatic indicators of the area were analysed and the changes in humus content and pH values in soils of different bonitet classes were assessed. According to the results of the research, it was established that the humus content is relatively higher in soils of high bonitet, whereas in areas of low bonitet the mineralisation of organic matter intensifies under the influence of climatic factors.
