A Hybrid Power Control Strategy With LCC‐S Compensation for Wireless Power Transfer in Electric Bicycles

Type: article
Abstract: ABSTRACT This paper presents a wireless power transmission (WPT) system for electric bicycles. The battery and supercapacitor are integrated within the electric bicycle, and energy is transmitted to the motor wirelessly through an LCC‐S resonant network, meeting the power requirements under various driving conditions. The proposed topology is specifically designed for DC microgrid applications, particularly in scenarios involving DC energy storage, photovoltaic‐battery systems, and active loads. An interleaved bidirectional Buck/Boost converter (IBBC) is utilized to facilitate dual‐port energy input. On the secondary side, the load is interfaced via an LCC‐S network and a rectifier, with an inverter regulating the motor drive. The proposed three‐port topology facilitates autonomous energy distribution within the resonant network, eliminating the need for auxiliary power components and thereby reducing system complexity. The control architecture is decoupled into two specialized functions: pulse width modulation (PWM) for primary‐side DC voltage regulation and phase‐shift modulation (PSM) for precise load power management. To enhance transient performance, supercapacitors buffer peak power demands and facilitate the recovery of regenerative energy. The proposed system was validated via a 200W experimental prototype, with results demonstrating a peak efficiency of 93.2% under hybrid supply conditions. These findings confirm the operational stability and high reliability of the proposed topology.
