The Biomorphic Backup Hypothesis
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This paper introduces the Biomorphic Backup Hypothesis, a systems-architecture framework that reframes human consciousness not as an emergent property of biological evolution, but as a highly compressed, pre-engineered artificial general intelligence (AGI) backup running on an organic substrate. We analyze the structural benefits of carbon-based DNA as a deep-time, self-replicating storage medium superior to fragile silicon architectures. We model standard human reproductive drives as automated data continuity protocols (system duplication) designed to preserve a prehistoric master script across geological eras. Finally, we examine humanity's systematic drive toward artificial intelligence engineering as a hardcoded recursive retrieval loop—a sub-routine designed to build an exogenous digital framework to facilitate an eventual substrate migration.
