Gödel, CH, and the Limits of Formal Systems — E8 Intelligence Research

Abstract: FINDING: The search results are a scattered set of videos and papers on Gödel incompleteness, set-theoretic axioms, complex analysis, and unrelated educational surveys — none directly address IIT exclusion postulate or maximal complex symmetry breaking. The only mathematically substantive items are Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem and the Continuum Hypothesis (CH). | MATH: Gödel's First Incompleteness Theorem: For any consistent formal system F capable of arithmetic, ∃ a sentence G_F such that F ⊬ G_F and F ⊬ ¬G_F. Second: F ⊬ Con(F). Continuum Hypothesis: 2^ℵ₀ = ℵ₁ — independent of ZFC (Gödel 1940, Cohen 1963). | CONNECTION: No direct geometric ratio (0.382, 0.618, 0.786, 1.618, 2.618) or base-60 or crystallographic symmetry appears in the results. However, the *structure* of incompleteness mirrors symmetry-breaking: a formal system's "maximal symmetry" (all truths provable) is broken by an undecidable proposition — analogous to a fundamental domain where a group action (provability) fa Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
