Projection Coherence Index (PCI): An Information Criterion for Distinguishing Black Holes and Topological Glues within the Framework of SFOС Ontology
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This article introduces the Projection Coherence Index (PCI) — a new quantitative criterion for empirical discrimination between two ontologically distinct types of compact cosmic objects: entropic sinks (black holes in the standard GR interpretation) and topological glues (portals, wormholes). Current identification methods — direct shadow imaging, spectroscopy, and polarimetry — do not provide a definitive answer: polarization signatures of black holes and wormholes differ by less than 4% and require unattainable resolution. PCI offers a fundamentally different approach, based not on physical parameters but on information coherence when passing through the object. PCI is defined by the formula: PCI = (I_corr / I_total) · (1 − η_loss), where I_corr is a measure of correlation between observed and expected radiation, I_total is the total intensity, and η_loss is the fraction of lost information, estimated by the growth of Shannon entropy. Interpretation: PCI → 0 corresponds to an entropic sink (black hole) — information is irreversibly lost; PCI → 1 corresponds to a topological glue (portal) — information is preserved, the mapping is isometric. An observational protocol based on EHT data is proposed: photon ring spectroscopy, linear polarimetry, and Shannon entropy estimation. For M87* and Sgr A*, PCI ≈ 0 is expected. Detection of an object with PCI → 1 would constitute strong empirical evidence for the existence of topological glues. PCI is the world's first informational-ontological observational criterion, opening a new class of cosmic object identification — through projection coherence.
