High-Resolution Micro-Signal Processing versus Administrative Signifiers: A Cognitive Efficiency Model for Interpersonal Evaluation

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Conventional social psychological frameworks posit that humans rely on institutional credentials, titles, and formal identifiers(administrative signifiers) as essential cognitive heuristics to reduce social evaluation latency. This paper challenges thatparadigm by proposing the High-Resolution Micro-Signal Processing Model (HR-MSPM). We demonstrate that sub-secondalgorithmic pattern recognition of non-verbal congruence—such as micro-facial alignment, vocal composure, and gazedynamics—is exponentially faster and more computationally efficient than bureaucratic inquiry. Furthermore, we explore thesocial paradox: why modern societies default to slow, uncalibrated administrative tags despite their inefficiency. We argue thatthis reliance stems not from time-saving necessity, but from a population-wide decay in sensory resolution, uncalibratedintuitive judgment, and the demand for institutional risk-deflection.
