Application of Statistical Analysis in Pharmaceutical Industry
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Statistics play a role in every part of drug research from creating new drugs to watching how they do afterthey are sold. This paper tells us about how important it's to use statistics the right way so we canunderstand the information we get make it more reliable and make good decisions based on facts. Whenwe use statistics it helps us test ideas and apply what we learn to a lot of situations. Descriptive statisticslike averages and measures of variability help us sum up the information we have. We also use methodslike, multivariate analysis, regression analysis and principal component analysis to make sense ofcomplex data. Statistics like these are really important, for drug research because they help us understandthe data we get from statistics and make decisions based on statistics. In the pharmaceutical sector statistical methods are used a lot for drug development, clinical trials andquality assurance. They help ensure that drugs are safe and effective. Two design methods that helpimprove formulation and process efficiency are central composite designs. These are part of Design ofExperiments methods. Some software like Minitab, SAS and SPSS makes it easier to process andvisualize data. However statistical analysis can have problems like bias and poor data quality.Despitethese issues statistical techniques are very important in the pharmaceutical sector. They help improveproducts ensure safety and comply with regulations. The use of Statistics and Design of Experiments(DoE) methods along with software, like SAS, Minitab and SPSS is crucial.
