IOBRportal: a cloud-based integrated platform for multidimensional decoding of tumor microenvironment and genomic landscapes
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Bulk transcriptomic analysis of the tumor microenvironment (TME) is a cornerstone of immuno-oncology, yet fragmented pipelines and technical barriers often hinder its routine application. Building on the success of our IOBR R package, we developed IOBRportal, a cloud-based, workflow-centric platform that democratizes advanced TME and genomic analysis. IOBRportal integrates a massive curated resource encompassing 64,362 samples, while seamlessly supporting user-uploaded data. Unlike tools with isolated functions, our platform unifies the entire analytical trajectory—from preprocessing and TME deconvolution to survival and correlation analysis—into continuous, reproducible workflows. We demonstrate its utility through case studies: resolving TME-associated molecular states in gastric cancer and bridging transcriptomic stratification with genomic mutations in lung adenocarcinoma. By eliminating local software dependencies and unifying public and private data analysis, IOBRportal provides a high-efficiency environment for transcriptome-driven discovery and hypothesis generation. The platform is freely accessible at: https://iobr.github.io/IOBRportal .
