Abstract: Remediation is embedded in learning, assessment, accreditation and patient safety and involves multiple stakeholders.Trainees, supervisors, training programs, regulators and accrediting bodies each bring different expectations which can create tension around how remediation is understood and implemented.Given these differing perspectives, it is not surprising that no single definition of remediation exists.Despite the lack of uniformity, remediation is commonly described as: (a) being for trainees in difficulty; and (b) as an intervention designed to facilitate correction [1].
