Revealing the link between critical thinking disposition and learning approaches: a cross-sectional study among Chinese medical students

Abstract: This study is among the first to examine how deep and surface learning approaches predict CT disposition in Chinese medical students. By integrating the R-SPQ-2F and the CTDI-CV, we not only analyzed the associations between CT dispositions and LA but also developed a regression model explaining 39% of CT variance. Our findings highlight that innovative activities and academic performance moderate the CT-LA relationship, suggesting actionable targets for curriculum reform.
