[SUPERSEDED] The TBR Error Bar - Which Cross-Sections Actually Matter
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This record has been superseded. The current, updated version is Nuclear-Data Uncertainty Quantification for Tritium Breeding: Which 14 MeV Cross-Section Channels Set the Error Bar on the Breeding Ratio (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.22645777). Please read and cite the current version. This page stays online so existing citations keep resolving. The credible nuclear-data uncertainty on the TBR is set by the light breeding channels — ⁶Li(n,t), ⁷Li(n,n't), ⁹Be(n,2n) show a 55–66% TALYS-vs-ENDF model spread at 14 MeV, against ~15% for heavy structural channels. The load-bearing light channels must come from evaluated covariances, not model defaults.
