pyCSAMT v2.5.1: Scientific Python for electromagnetic geophysics — with PCSF/PCSM (v0.1.0), a backend-neutral inversion-result format
Year: 2026
Type: software
Abstract: pyCSAMT is an open-source Python framework for electromagnetic and magnetotelluric (EM/MT) data processing, inversion, and visualization, wrapping Occam2D, ModEM, and MARE2DEM alongside AI/DL-assisted inversion methods. This release (v2.5.1) includes PCSF/PCSM (pycsamt.format), a backend-neutral HDF5 container (PCSF) and its lossless, hand-editable ASCII sibling (PCSM) for electromagnetic and magnetotelluric inversion results — canonicalizing resistivity encoding and coordinate frame across Occam2D, ModEM, MARE2DEM, and any AI/DL inversion method, with explicit geometry-kind discrimination, preserved native provenance, and a solver-agnostic entry point with model-provenance tracking for shared AI/DL results.
