Investigating Sex Differences in Substrate Metabolism During Submaximal Treadmill Running Prescribed to Ventilatory Threshold
Year: 2026
Type: other
Abstract: The primary aim of this study is to examine sex-based differences in substrate metabolism during submaximal treadmill exercise prescribed according to ventilatory threshold (VT). This study will advance the knowledge base by examining sex differences in athletic populations, using a larger sample size, using treadmill running as the mode of exercise, and prescribing exercise according to VT as opposed to relative intensities. Our study results will apply to coaches looking to optimize endurance-based performance for their athletes.
