Year: 2026
Type: dataset
Abstract: This study was a multisite, randomized, hybrid Type 1 effectiveness-implementation (EPIS) trial designed to answer the following questions: Is a pre-treatment telehealth intervention effective in linking incarcerated women to community medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) services upon release, and does the addition of peer navigators strengthen the intervention? Nine-hundred women with moderate-to-high risk opioid use incarcerated in one of 9 Kentucky jails participated. Randomization was performed at the level of the jail. Data were collected every three months for up to 12 months total. Primary effectiveness outcomes included MOUD initiation/retention, opioid overdose, relapse, and recidivism; primary implementation outcomes included optimal strategies for implementing and sustaining MOUD telehealth. This is a documentation-only release. Data for this study are not currently available but will be added in the future.
