Artificial density distribution in the N(1440) Roper radial excitation transition current structure

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This study employs Patterson function analysis to reconstruct the spatial distribution of the N(1440) Roper radial excitation transition current. By combining empirical Dirac (F₁) and Pauli (F₂) form factors, the method reveals that the contribution of F₂ is comparatively minor. In contrast to earlier empirical reconstructions, this artificial reconstruction highlights a sharply localized density profile, underscoring the compactness of the excitation. The results confirm that Patterson imaging provides a transparent, model independent framework for probing baryon transition currents, while also demonstrating its adaptability to artificial density distributions.
