Abstract: Quantum computers are expected to show tremendous computing power based on quantum mechanics parallelism. This paper investigates and explains how this tremendous computing power is realized in the view of a mathematical model of quantum computation. Though the physical realization of quantum computers is another important subject it is in its infant stage and is not dealt with in this paper.
