Measuring in Harmony: Binary Scale as One of the Universal Harmonic Design Scales and the Power of Imperial Units

Abstract: This paper presents the concept of applying the Binary Scale—a pure, dimensionless geometric grid—to physical measurement and proportional control. this paper reveals the unique special property of the Imperial System, which has physical main anchors (inch-foot-yard) that interlock and connect to each other across scales automatically, resulting in design work from furniture parts, building architecture, to urban planning having harmonic consistency as one unified whole.
