Abstract: This study was conducted to evaluate the possibility of using the BISAP scale as an independent predictor in the development of severe acute pancreatitis. To do this, the following clinical and laboratory parameters were studied: blood urea level, the presence of impaired consciousness, the presence of SIRS (SIRS), the age of patients and the presence of effusion in the pleural cavity, which were obtained during the first 24 hours after hospitalization and before the development of organ failure. The relationship between the obtained results of the assessment of severity according to the BISAP scale and the development of severe acute pancreatitis was investigated
