Finite-Tension Basin Preservation in Deterministic Relaxation: A Controlled Enchan Field Surrogate for Premature-Fixation Suppression
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Finite-tension screening preserves competing minima in a controlled deterministic relaxation at a coupling strength where unscreened linear coupling leaves only one local basin. This record contains Version 1.0 of Finite-Tension Basin Preservation in Deterministic Relaxation: A Controlled Enchan Field Surrogate for Premature-Fixation Suppression. Building on the previously published Enchan finite-tension screening principle, the study isolates basin preservation in a standalone ring-graph surrogate with a tilted triple-well onsite potential and matched linear and screened edge couplings. With two neighbors held in the left phase, the linear effective potential has one minimum, while screening preserves three minima separated by two maxima. With all nodes evolving under identical initial positions and seed velocity, the representative screened seed reaches the deeper right well at T = 60 (S = 1.0082747), whereas the linear seed returns to the left well (S = -0.9892779). The contrast persists for ring sizes N = 16, 32, 64, and 128 at fixed degree two. At stronger damping, gamma = 0.20 and 0.25, the screened seed remains in the central well, demonstrating that basin preservation does not guarantee access to the deeper state. The 58 retained kick, graph-size, and damping cases are reproduced. Time-step refinement and an independently assembled adaptive DOP853 integration preserve the representative basin outcomes and quantify the trajectory errors. Extrema, adjacent barrier heights, trajectories, robustness results, and convergence comparisons are supplied as CSV data. The result provides mechanism-level evidence that suppressing excessive local influence can prevent premature elimination of alternative basins and permit continued deterministic relaxation. The right-well transition is local: only one of 32 nodes reaches the right reporting region in the representative run. This is a dimensionless numerical surrogate, not a global-optimality theorem, a general Max-Cut performance claim, an empirical physical test, or quantum tunneling. The study does not reproduce, decompose, or disclose the Enchan Cosmic production implementation.
