The Threefold Formula and Its Role in the Neural Formation of Crying, Imagination, and Thought
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This document is an addendum to the Crying Trilogy (the nature, why, and how of crying), within the Nature Reflection Model. Its core is the “Threefold Formula”: a rule governing how cognitive expectations combine according to their positive or negative valence (positive×positive=positive; negative×negative=positive; positive×negative=negative), operating recursively from the simplest to the most complex cognitive patterns. On this basis, the “neural bridge” between analytical and excitatory neurons, the resulting asymmetry and “wandering energy,” and hippocampal feedback are explained. The crying cycle is analyzed through three damping mechanisms (hormonal, structural, and sign-reframing via underlying belief), and “rational reconciliation” (تراضی عقل) — the neural equivalent of truth — serves as the criterion distinguishing base reality from dependent memories. Finally, the boundary between imagination and thought is formalized, along with the concept of the “roadmap” as the consolidated product of cognitive patterns.
