Abstract: The decisive role in the occurrence of trophic ulcers is played by venous hypertension, without eliminating which it is difficult to achieve their healing. The surgical method is the most radical way of treating a venous ulcer. However, performing classical operations entails the necessity of anesthesia, of several incisions under conditions of poor perfusion and infection of the skin, and blood loss, which significantly increases the risk of such interventions in persons of advanced age. Therefore the further prospect of developing and introducing minimally invasive techniques, including sclerosurgery, videoendosurgery and a combination of various low-traumatic methods in the treatment of venous ulcers, appears to be quite well grounded and necessary.
