Abstract: The use of gamification in English language learning (ELL) has gained increasing attention in recent years because of its potential to strengthen learners' engagement, motivation and language acquisition. This article examines the effectiveness of game-based methods in ELL, highlighting their impact on learner participation, skill development and long-term retention. The article states that game-based learning not only improves learners' language skills but also fosters a positive attitude towards language learning. However, challenges remain in effectively integrating these tools into traditional classroom settings, particularly in terms of balancing game mechanics with educational objectives.
