Abstract: Poster presented at the 22nd International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries (RRB 2026), held in Leuven, Belgium, on 1–3 June 2026. The poster presents the MARMADE project's approach to macroalgal biomass sourcing and biorefinery, with a particular focus on Work Package 1 (WP1), “Sourcing of biomass from circular processes and sustainable cultivation”. It outlines the project's marine biomass value chains, including crustacean residues and seaweed, and describes activities related to sustainable biomass sourcing, storage conditions, supply-chain stability, regulatory considerations, and the subsequent extraction and valorisation of marine biomass for food and aquafeed applications.
