Abstract: The Prevalence of Cerebral Palsy Continues to Decrease in SwedenThe prevalence of cerebral palsy in western Sweden decreased from 2.18 per 1000 live births in 1999-2002 to 1.78 in 2015-2018.Himmelmann et al. used data from the Cerebral Palsy Register of Western Sweden, which has monitored the prevalence since the 1950s [1].They reported that the proportion of white matter lesions, which is the most common neuroimaging finding in children with cerebral palsy, increased from 1999-2002 to 2015-2018.Meanwhile, gross motor function improved in term-born and extremely preterm children.
