Tool Control and Accountability in Aviation Maintenance for Foreign Object Debris Prevention: A Scoping Review

Abstract: A PRISMA-ScR scoping review of tool control and accountability practice in aviation maintenance, and of the sensing, tracking and computer-vision methods proposed to prevent tools being left behind and becoming foreign object debris. Twelve locked Boolean search strings were executed across Scopus, IEEE Xplore, PubMed, Lens.org and Google Scholar, returning 1,443 records; 1,348 were screened after deduplication. THIS IS A RETROSPECTIVE REGISTRATION. Searching, screening and charting were complete before this record was created. The protocol, search strategy, PRISMA-ScR checklist, data-charting form and workbook, the full assembled record corpus with every screening verdict, the reproducible sampling script and the raw database exports are all deposited here so that every reported figure can be independently recomputed.
