Abstract: The paper explores the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and its history as an organization through an economic and business perspective. It aims to show how the UFC has evolved both in its rise in popularity and in its various sponsorships. The paper examines… that when looking at the revenue streams of the UFC, it becomes abundantly clear that they are mainly run on media rights and that it would be difficult for them as a company to stand without them. The paper then explores the UFC’s leadership and how, in recent years, the governance has taken a shift into a more ambiguous state following the TKO merger. Through an analysis of the UFC’s expenses and its lawsuits, the paper aims to contend that the UFC is underpaying its athletes, especially when compared to other major sports leagues.
