Search Results Fail to Retrieve Babylonian Zigzag Function Mathematics — E8 Intelligence Research
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: FINDING: The search results are largely noise — YouTube astrology clickbait and an unrelated DNN accelerator paper. No actual Babylonian zigzag function mathematics or eclipse prediction algorithm is retrieved. The only relevant item is the arxiv abstract on Heliophysics Big Year, which is modern outreach, not ancient math. MATH: No equations, constants, or ratios are present in the retrieved content. The Babylonian zigzag function — typically \( y_{n+1} = y_n + d \pmod{P} \) with period \( P \) and amplitude \( A \) — is absent. No Saros cycle (223 synodic months ≈ 6585.321 days), no Metonic cycle (19 years ≈ 235 lunations), no 0.382/0.618/0.786/1.618/2.618 ratios, no base-60 sexagesimal coefficients. CONNECTION: None. The search returned zero geometric-harmony links. The zigzag function itself is a linear sawtooth, not a harmonic ratio — its periodicity relates to modular arithmetic, not golden-section proportions. No crystallographic symmetry or root-system structure is implie Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK. Part of the E8 Intelligence Research series. Platform: e8intelligence.com
