Thermal and electrical conductivity of nanocarbon/ferrite/epoxy hybrid composites
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This study investigates thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity in nanocarbon/ferrite/epoxy hybrid composites prepared by controlled dispersion. Ferrite fillers were characterized by XRD, TEM, FTIR, and TG/DTA/DTG to assess structural, morphological, vibrational, and thermal properties. XRD confirmed crystalline spinel ferrite phases, while FTIR identified characteristic metal-oxygen vibrations at tetrahedral and octahedral sites. TEM revealed nanosized, strongly agglomerated particles averaging about 23 nm. Thermal analyses confirmed filler stability, with major mass losses below 400-500 °C. Adding 5 wt.% GNPs increased thermal conductivity up to 0.7 W/(m × K), depending on composition and temperature. Conduction mechanisms depended on nanocarbon geometry. Loading and composition influenced results, and synergistic effects enhanced phonon transport.
