P2P Solar Energy Trading Using Blockchain: A Local Market Model
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This paper proposes a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) solar energy trading framework using blockchain technology for local energy markets. The model enables prosumers to directly buy and sell excess solar energy without intermediaries, ensuring transparency, security, and reduced transaction costs. We present the system architecture, smart contract logic, and a case study for decentralized energy trading in residential communities. The proposed approach promotes renewable energy adoption and grid efficiency.
