Abstract: A strong major gift prospect is someone who feels personally invested in your cause. Are you missing hints that they want to engage on a deeper level? Allison Strekal, MBA, CFRE, director of development for the Montana State University Alumni Foundation (Bozeman, MT) says AI can take some of the guesswork out of this puzzle. “That shift from supporter to owner is subtle,” Strekal continues, “but AI is good at catching it across a year of contact reports when no single moment would have stood out.” If an AI review flags recurring mentions of ownership-coded words, it may be a signal worth surfacing in your next portfolio review or cultivation conversation.
