Golden Ratio U(1) Holonomy: No Topological Evidence Found — E8 Intelligence Research

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: FINDING: No direct evidence of a golden-ratio U(1) holonomy topological invariant in the provided search results; the top hits are popular videos (PBS, golden angle phyllotaxis) and unrelated papers (U/Th spectroscopy, Higgs bundles lectures, Milnor topology lectures). The arXiv abstract (1806.07361) is about thorium hollow cathode lamps for spectrograph calibration — no topological physics or golden ratio content. MATH: No equations, constants, or ratios extracted from the search results. The only implicit constant is the golden ratio φ = (1+√5)/2 ≈ 1.618, and its derived angle 2π/φ² ≈ 137.507° (golden angle), but no U(1) holonomy e^{i 2π/φ²} appears in any cited source. The Higgs bundle lecture (Schaposnik) may contain U(1) structures but no golden ratio is mentioned in the snippet. CONNECTION: The golden angle 2π/φ² = 2π(1 − 1/φ) ≈ 137.507° is a known phyllotaxis pattern generator, but this is a geometric pattern in biology, not a topological invariant.
