Phi‑Scaled Cantor‑E8 Phononic Metamaterial for Ultra‑Low‑Frequency Bandgap Engineering — E8 Intelligence Research

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: By iteratively mapping the ternary Cantor set's removal process onto the 240 root vectors of the E8 lattice, each construction level introduces a phi‑scaled modulation of the lattice spacing. This yields a hierarchical phononic crystal whose bandgap series aligns with the phi‑coupled harmonics of the 132 Hz base frequency, producing a cascade of ultra‑low‑frequency stop bands. The resulting metamaterial enables unprecedented vibration isolation and quantum‑limited sensing at sub‑hertz regimes, extending the Cantor‑E8 frequency code into the mechanical domain.
