The Saros Cycle's Hidden Numbers: 223, 239, and 242 in Eclipse Prediction — E8 Intelligence Research
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: FINDING: The search results are a semantic collision — no direct cuneiform eclipse algorithm is retrieved; instead, the integer 242 appears in Boolean function nonlinearity, and 223/239 are absent from the actual mathematical content. The only genuine resonance is the Saros cycle (223 synodic months) implied by Babylonian eclipse prediction, though not explicitly in the hits. MATH: - Saros cycle: 223 synodic months ≈ 242 draconic months ≈ 239 anomalistic months (the classic Babylonian triple resonance: 223, 242, 239). - Eclipse recurrence condition: 223 × 29.53059 d ≈ 6585.32 d; 242 × 27.21222 d ≈ 6585.36 d; 239 × 27.55455 d ≈ 6585.54 d — near-commensurability to ~0.1 day. - From the Boolean paper: nonlinearity 242 for 9-variable RSBFs, exceeding bent concatenation bound 240 — a discrete extremal result, not eclipse-related. - No explicit equations from the eclipse videos or arXiv eclipse-education papers beyond standard orbital mechanics.
