Abstract: Here is the narration for the MERLIN SCIENCE video, revised to address the publisher's notes. --- The finding, in one clean sentence: we propose that the geometry of the E8 lattice, when modulated at a specific frequency with golden-ratio coupling, may create discrete temporal windows that bias quantum collapse events toward alignment with neural firing patterns. Let me put that in context. We are standing at the intersection of two very different descriptions of reality. On one side, we have the stochastic, probabilistic world of quantum mechanics. On the other, we have the deterministic, rhythmic firing of neurons in the brain. The gap between them is the hard problem of consciousness. Our work suggests a geometric bridge, not a physical one, but a temporal one. We hypothesize that the discrete tempo of the synaptic clock is not arbitrary—it may be a shadow of a deeper, 8-dimensional symmetry. Here is the mechanism, as we see it.
