Abstract: Dental care for patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) presents significant challenges related to behavioral, sensory, and communication aspects, requiring individualized and patient-centered approaches. In this context, the humanization of care emerges as a key strategy to improve treatment adherence and quality of care. This study aimed to analyze, through an integrative literature review, the main humanization strategies in dental care for patients with ASD, as well as the challenges faced by professionals in this context. The literature search was conducted in the SciELO and PubMed/MEDLINE databases, using controlled descriptors from DeCS and MeSH, combined with Boolean operators. Articles published between 2005 and 2026, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, available in full text and directly related to the topic, were included. After applying the eligibility criteria, the selected studies were analyzed and organized into thematic categories. The results showed that the main barriers include communication difficulties, sensory hypersensitivity, and lack of professional training. On the other hand, strategies such as gradual desensitization, use of visual supports, adaptation of the clinical environment, and caregiver involvement demonstrated positive effects on patient cooperation and treatment outcomes. It is concluded that the humanization of dental care is essential to ensure qualified assistance for patients with ASD, highlighting the need for professional training and the strengthening of interdisciplinary approaches.
