D‐π‐A Type Pure Organic Small Molecular Nonlinear Optical Materials in Quantum Information Technology

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: ABSTRACT The development of high‐performance nonlinear optical (NLO) materials based on donor‐π‐acceptor (D‐π‐A) type pure organic small molecules is crucial for advancing quantum information technologies, including quantum memories, quantum sources, and quantum sensors. Conventional inorganic NLO materials often face challenges such as high fabrication costs, limited structural tunability, and moderate NLO coefficients. In contrast, D‐π‐A organic NLO materials offer a promising alternative, exhibiting high NLO coefficients, fast response speeds, low preparation costs, and facile structural modification. However, current research in this area remains constrained by the limited diversity of chemical structures, the lack of standardized performance characterization methods, and insufficient exploration in quantum device applications. This review summarizes recent advances in D‐π‐A pure organic small‐molecule NLO materials for quantum information technology, with a focus on how D‐π‐A architectures, molecular structures, and functional substitutions influence their optical properties. The article also provides forward‐looking suggestions for the design of novel molecules and the development of next‐generation NLO materials.
