Institutional and Bibliometric Data on Creative Economy Governance: Culture-Heritage, Trade-Development, and Copyright-IP
Year: 2026
Type: dataset
Abstract: This dataset provides the reproducibility materials for the study “When Intersection Becomes Derivation: Culture, Trade, Intellectual Property, and the Governance of the Creative Economy.” The study examines a persistent problem in creative economy research and policy: creative activity is routinely observed and governed through adjacent institutional domains—culture and heritage, trade and development, and copyright and intellectual property—without a settled independent classificatory basis for the Creative Economy itself. The dataset supports an integrated institutional–bibliometric design. It documents the analytical procedures used to examine how UNESCO, UNCTAD, and WIPO classify, measure, and govern creative economic activity, and how comparable distinctions are reproduced in scholarly discourse. The deposited materials include the bibliometric search strategies, lineage definitions for Culture-Heritage, Trade-Development, and Copyright-IP, screening and deduplication procedures, keyword-normalization rules, institutional coding framework, and derived analytical outputs underlying the study’s tables and keyword co-occurrence networks. Where licensing restrictions apply, proprietary Scopus records are not redistributed; instead, the repository provides the procedures and derived materials necessary to understand and reproduce the analytical workflow. The study’s empirical contribution is to distinguish substantive intersection from categorical equivalence. Its findings show that the three lineages capture legitimate but different dimensions of creative economic activity and remain only partially integrated in both institutional and scholarly structures. This evidence supports the study’s theoretical argument that culture, trade, and intellectual property should be treated as institutional intersections with the Creative Economy rather than as parent categories from which it is derived. The study further proposes an independent boundary principle for the field: Creative Economy is defined as an economic system in which creative transformation is the primary productive mechanism through which imagination, ideas, meaning, aesthetics, knowledge, and experience are converted into scalable and transferable forms of value across physical and digital environments. The deposited materials are intended to enable scrutiny, replication, extension, and comparative application of this framework across countries, institutions, and future creative economy classifications. This repository is therefore designed not only as supplementary material to a single article, but as a transparent empirical foundation for further research on creative economy classification, policy-domain construction, global governance, and the development of independent creative economy measurement systems.
