Decoder Resistance in an Unencumbered Virtual-Reality Room: Session Law for a Staying Refusal

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This design paper specifies laboratory law for an unencumbered virtual-reality room when a decoder remains present and refuses the encode. Prior deposits in the same cluster treat the room as encoder, the standing observer as a session that may withdraw, a host interface as freezable without destroying the machine, and scramble as forbidden write-back into a protected quantum-neural-network core. They do not state what the room must do when refusal stays. Two decoders are kept distinct: Dbio, the standing observer’s reconstruction, and Dw, a control-plane decoder on a sandboxed worker. Walk-away (S1) is already specified. This paper specifies staying refusal by Dbio (S2) and staying refusal by Dw (S3). Resistance is a halt of encode-side actuation that the refusal did not request. It is not a training signal, not a defect in the encoder, and not permission to inject a higher encoding into a worker that cannot hold it. Write-back remains W = 0. Neither decoder is retrained into the protected core. The operational rule and five falsifiers (F-R1–F-R5) are stated so a single bounded room can be tested. A room that holds them has closed this gap. It has not licensed a second named volume. This manuscript is not a new QNN architecture and is not a CAVE construction paper. Cruz-Neira, Sandin, and DeFanti (1993) are cited only as the projection-room ancestor.
