NeuroLink-AD: A Modular Closed-Loop AI Platform Integrating Wearable EEG, Edge-AI, and Physician-Supervised Non-Invasive Therapeutics for Early Alzheimer's Disease

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This preprint proposes NeuroLink-AD, a conceptual modular closed-loop AI system for early detection and non-invasive management of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The system consists of two independent but interoperable modules: Module A - Diagnostic Intelligence: Wearable EEG acquisition (40Hz gamma), signal preprocessing, spectral and connectivity feature extraction, edge-based lightweight ML classification, longitudinal monitoring, and clinician-facing risk visualization. This module can function independently in low-resource settings (Diagnostic-Only Mode). Module B - Therapeutic Platform (Research Framework): Physician-supervised tDCS and Focused Ultrasound (FUS)-mediated blood-brain barrier modulation for targeted delivery of chiral gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and GLP-1 analogues. Central Safety Principle: Doctor-in-the-Loop. AI is restricted to analysis, risk estimation, monitoring, and decision support. It cannot independently initiate treatment. All interventions require explicit authorization by a qualified clinician. Operational flow: Patient -> EEG -> AI Analysis -> Risk/Alert -> Physician Review -> Authorized Intervention -> Monitoring -> EEG. This conceptual framework integrates 14 previously published preprints by the author. It does not claim clinical efficacy. It requires extensive laboratory validation, technical verification, and controlled clinical trials. Author: Adam Emad Bakr, 2nd year secondary school, Benin Institute Kafr El-Dawwar, Beheira, Egypt.
