Passive Solid-State Decay Heat Scavenging Architecture for Class 1E Nuclear Environments

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This technical specification outlines a purely micro-fluidic, solid-state transducer architecture designed to safely scavenge decay heat and kinetic exhaust from shutdown nuclear reactors and spent fuel pools. By utilizing an Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) convective vacuum and a 6.26 kHz Kármán-plasma transduction matrix, the system extracts high-temperature thermal waste without introducing aerodynamic backpressure or piercing primary mechanical safety loops. Rectification is achieved via a Universal Dielectric Barrier Discharge (U-DBD) cold-plasma gateway operating under Paschen’s Law. Critical simulation boundary conditions for the macroscopic phononic diode are reserved for institutional partners under a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (MNDA).
