Validating an Individualized Measure of Event Segmentation in Children: Granularity and Individual Differences in Segmentation
Year: 2026
Type: other
Abstract: This work seeks to understand possible developmental shifts in event segmentation as measured in the brain. We will measure neural event boundaries in a 2,401-subject subset (aged 5-21) of the Child Mind Institutes Healthy Brain Network at the individual level, using a newly validated method, that removes biases afflicting all previous measures. I aim to investigate questions about how neural event boundary granularity changes across the brain as children get older.
