Revolutionizing remote monitoring for elderly care with AI-enhanced wearable biosensors using 6G communication: A systematic review
Year: 2026
Type: review
Abstract: Growing aging populations around the world have increased the need for individualized and sustainable healthcare solutions. Sixth-generation (6G) communication networks, wearable biosensors, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have come together to provide a way forward for proactive, predictive, and real-time geriatric care. To demonstrate how their integration facilitates ongoing monitoring, early diagnosis, and prompt actions, this review provides a comprehensive synthesis of advancements made in these areas. Interoperability, energy economy, latency, data privacy, and clinical validation are among the enduring problems that are identified by critically analyzing current works. To build on these insights, we offer a comprehensive platform that combines ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), AI-enabled predictive analytics, and improved biosensing to provide older persons with safe, tailored, and responsive care. Through the integration of technical, clinical, and ethical viewpoints, this review provides a roadmap for research, development, and real-world application while highlighting the current and future trajectory of intelligent health monitoring systems.
