Intertwined escort dynamics: A dynamical framework for constrained optimization
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Feasibility maintenance amid convergence is critical in constrained optimization, particularlyin large-scale and distributed settings. In order to tackle this challenge, an initialization of themathematically-founded dynamic anatomy, known as Intertwined Escort Dynamics (IED), wasconducted. In the IED, the optimization dilemma has been modeled as a coupled dynamicalsystem governed by escort mappings. In its formulation, the feasibility of the states is maintainednaturally throughout the evolution process. Using fixed point analysis, the stability of thesystem is demonstrated to yield equilibrium points that satisfy the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT)optimality conditions under some reasonable assumptions. In essence, the methodology createsan association between evolutionary dynamics and constrained optimization, providing anavenue toward optimality without the need to construct a Lagrangian. The universality of themethodology is validated through typical constrained optimization problems, including largescale problems in economic load dispatch applications.
