Carbon Credit Generation Through Algorithmic Entropy Compression of Financial Trading Signals — ERRATUM
Year: 2026
Type: erratum
Abstract: ERRATUM (2026-09-19). This record replaces version 1.0 (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.18763166, published 2026-02-24) and inherits the concept DOI 10.5281/zenodo.18763165. Correction 1 — all results are classical simulations. Every number in the original abstract and in the deposited ETARE_Carbon_Credit_Generation_via_Entropy_Compression.md file was produced on CPU using classical simulated annealing. No quantum hardware was used. The original abstract's reference to GPU computation is misleading: the pipeline described is a CPU-bound signal-processing algorithm; no GPU cycles were measured, reduced, or saved. The original abstract's statement that the system "reduces GPU cycles by approximately 88%" is unsupported. There is no measured GPU-cycle reduction of any magnitude. The 88% figure, if it appears in the deposited file, is a modeled estimate derived from signal compression ratios, not a measurement of GPU runtime. Correction 2 — "carbon credits" are modeled estimates, not measured emissions. The CO2e figures in this record are derived from signal compression ratios multiplied by assumed grid emission factors and credit-market prices. No power meter was attached. No emissions were measured. The credit values are calculations, not measurements. Calling them "carbon credits" or "carbon rebate credits" implies a certifiable offset instrument; this record makes no such claim and contains no verification against any registry (Verra, Gold Standard, or otherwise). Correction 3 — SUSTAI Engine. The "SUSTAI Engine" named in the original abstract is not a separately documented or independently verifiable component. It is a label applied to the credit-calculation formula embedded in the ETARE pipeline code. No external specification, no audit, and no third-party assessment of any "SUSTAI Engine" exists in this record or in the public record. Correction 4 — GHG Protocol Scopes. The original abstract states the reductions are "tracked against the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) Scopes 1, 2, and 3." This record contains no Scope 1, 2, or 3 emissions inventory, no organizational boundary setting, and no activity data mapped to any GHG Protocol scope. The statement is not supported by the contents of this record. Correction 5 — "first system" claim. The original abstract's statement that this "represents the first system that generates carbon credits as an intrinsic byproduct of algorithmic signal processing efficiency" is an unsubstantiated priority claim. No literature search, no prior-art review, and no comparative analysis is included in this record to support it. What survives correction: The ETARE pipeline is a real signal-processing algorithm. The entropy compression it applies to trading-signal-like inputs is a measurable operation on those signals. The L2-norm compression ratios reported in the code are reproducible from the deposited file. The modeled CO2e and credit figures are reproducible from the code given the stated assumptions. None of the above entitles the pipeline to be described as a carbon-credit generator, a GPU-cycle reducer, or a verified emissions-reduction instrument. Usage note: Anyone citing this record should cite the corrections above. The original version 1.0 description should not be cited without the erratum.
