Decision-Making About Walking Independence In Hospital After Stroke
Year: 2026
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Recovery of independent walking in inpatient stroke rehabilitation happens when quality of walking and ability to manage hazards match the risk tolerance of the stroke survivor. A shared decision-making process should be used, prioritising the goals of the stroke survivor to help improve level of physical activity, risk awareness and autonomy during the period of hospitalisation.
