Abstract: Adolescence involves profound physical, mental and social changes, accompanied by diverse emotional challenges and high levels of stress, which makes it essential to promote self-care and healthy lifestyles among young people. Objective To evaluate the preliminary effect of a health education program aimed at promoting healthy habits among adolescents at a public educational institution in Colombia. Methodology A single-group quasi-experimental study was conducted, with pre- and post-intervention measurements. The Fantastic questionnaire was used as a self-assessment instrument to measure lifestyles. The results were compared using the Wilcoxon statistical test. Results Significant differences were found for the items evaluated between the pre- and post-test (p=0.003), showing favorable results for the intervention. Before implementing the educational program, the most influential dimensions were those related to family, friends, substance use, tobacco and alcohol. However, after the intervention, aspects such as introspection, sleep quality, stress management, health control and sexual behavior were highlighted. Conclusion The change could be attributed to a process of awareness about self-care, which would allow participants to give greater importance to aspects that were less valued previously, suggesting relevant transformations in the perception and practice of self-care among participants. Taken together, educational interventions can be effective in promoting healthy lifestyles in adolescents.
