Data Physics & Cyber-Physical Systems - Part I: Theoretical Foundations of Thermo-Algorithmic Determinism in Hyperscale AI: The mCDU Data Physics Framework
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This monograph formalizes the application of thermo-algorithmic determinism in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and hyperscale AI accelerator clusters. Classical systems engineering artificially decouples mechanical-hydraulic infrastructure (MEP) from the logical execution runtime of software algorithms. We demonstrate that in multi-node computing environments relying on synchronous communication barriers (e.g., NCCL Ring-AllReduce), such a separation constitutes a fundamental methodological flaw. We directly model the propagation of macro-scale hydraulic anomalies within Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs)-such as cavitation, pressure pulsations, and gas desorption under Henry’s Law-down to the 100–200 µm silicon microchannels of processor cold plates. The resulting two-phase dispersion and bubble pinning severely degrade micro-scale convective heat transfer, leading to millisecond thermal transients and silicon junction temperature spikes. To capture the non-linear feedback loop between transistor leakage currents and Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) mechanisms, we introduce the mathematical model of thermo-algorithmic equivalence, incorporating hydraulic loop state variables directly into the denominator of the execution time integral (t_exec). This analytical framework-bridging hydraulic-thermal dynamics directly to execution delays (t_exec) and cluster instability (the straggler effect, HBM silent data corruption, and checkpoint rollbacks)-establishes mCDU hydraulic optimization as the primary and most critical unit test for AI runtime environments. The original PDF files attached to the respective Zenodo records have deliberately not been modified or re-issued, preserving their cryptographic qualified timestamp and digital signature (Profil Zaufany). This guarantees full Legal Continuity, Data Integrity, and Unalterable Patent/Scientific Priority (Prior Art) based on the original file checksums. Title updates and standardization under the Data Physics & Cyber-Physical Systems (Parts I–IV) monographic umbrella have been applied exclusively to the digital metadata layer (DataCite/Zenodo metadata) to optimize academic citation indexing without compromising the evidentiary integrity of the source documents.
