Year: 2026
Type: software
Abstract: EnCert is a compiler-level formal verification framework for checking Namespace-protected LLVM IR produced by the Zeno capability architecture. It decomposes post-transformation verification into two complementary stages: thoroughness verification, which checks that covered memory accesses use valid protected pointers with consistent Namespace size, lifetime, and replacement behavior, and functional-preservation verification, which uses normalization contracts and Alive2 to determine whether the protected program refines the original program for supported valid executions. The artifact includes the EnCert LLVM passes, evaluation scripts, benchmark inputs, controlled mutation infrastructure, and reference results used to reproduce the experiments on EnForge-protected MSET programs, including the detection of protection violations and functional corruptions reported in the paper.
