Abstract: This report is based on a fact-finding mission to the Dominican Republic and Haiti from May 31st June 14, 2001, which included visits to both sides of the Dajabón-Ounaminthe border area and the Jimaní-Fonds Parisian border area, and interviews with numerous Haitian deportees who were believed to be illegal immigrants by the Dominican Republic government.
