Comparative Prognostic Performance of BMI ‐ and Height‐Indexed Muscle Mass in Older Patients With Heart Failure: Insights From FRAGILE ‐ HF

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Among older patients hospitalized for heart failure, height-indexed appendicular skeletal muscle mass, but not BMI-indexed appendicular skeletal muscle mass, was associated with higher 2-year mortality. Height-indexed ASMM may therefore be the more clinically useful marker for post-discharge risk stratification.
